Extortion Ring Threatening Citizens

Updated: Dec 9, 2020

~ Reported by Louise Duaviva

Multiple Decadent Isles citizens received threatening emails containing indecent photos of their loved ones Monday. The messages, reminiscent of a mafia protection racket, all contained pictures of the recipient's love interest that were seemingly taken while the victim was disrobing or naked inside their own home. The photo was accompanied by a message that was short and to the point: "We got that close, and we CAN get closer. Listen to our terms and that's as far as we get. Ignore us?....need we say more?. Reply to this email and we will contact you with the conditions.”

The Isles Journal has spoken with four citizens who received this email. Most requested anonymity in order to protect themselves and their loved ones but the fourth, recent arrival Meow Dog, was willing to speak on the record. “Yeah, I got it,” he said in the tones of his native Boston, “buncha crap, if you ask me. Surprised they didn't claim to be a Nigerian prince.” When asked if responded to the ganster missive Mr. Dog nodded and said, “Sure I did. Told 'em they take shitty pictures. Let 'em know I can send 'em some real good pictures of my gal Fatsy in the buff if they're willing to pay.” Mr. Dog operates a photo studio. His friend, Miss Fatsy Piggins was not available for comment.

It is uncertain what, if any, end goal the person or persons operating this racket has in mind. The only certainties are that they are able to violate the sanctities of our homes in Decadent Isles and that some citizens, at least, are very frightened.

The Isles Journal attempted to contact Chief John Devoue of the Decadent Isles Police Department but this reporter was informed that Chief Devoue does not speak with the press via telephone.
