Local Man Out on Bail After 'Alleged' Assault and Attempted Kidnapping

Updated: Dec 9, 2020

On the Friday 23rd October the Decadent Isles court stood in session for the bail application hearing Mr. Sam Garrison, in "Case Nr 215/20 The People of Decadent Isles versus Mr Sam Garrison." with the honorable Magistrate Miss M McAllister presiding

It was claimed that Mr. Garrison had entered the business of Miss Holly Ceallaigh's, drawing a handgun and threatening her if she did not come out from behind the counter she had sheltered behind, when she refused Mr. Garrison attempted to attack Miss Ceallaigh while making threats of a sexual and nature against her.

The charges against Mr. Garrison were read as:

* brandishing a firearm

* reckless endangerment

* attempted bodily harm

* attempted kidnap

Mr. Garrison, who was represented by Mr. W. White a State appointed Defense Attorney denied the charges of engaging in threats of a sexual nature and went on to claim that he had been advised prior to the hearing that this charge would not stick in court, claiming he was told this by the Chief of the Decadence Isles Police Department

The Prosecutor challenged this claim, stating that the witness had given a statement claiming Mr. Garrison had said, "I am not after your money, Holly. I'm after you" to Miss Ceallaigh which the prosecutor said was being interpreted as a sexual threat, also calling into dispute Mr. Garrison's claim that he had spoken to the Chief Of Police when it was actually Deputy Chief Karishaye that had arrested Mr. Garrison.

Defense Attorney Mr. White claimed the defense had not had time to review the evidence having only been assigned prior to the hearing and claimed that it would be unfair to deny Mr. Garrison bail but he was willing to give up his passport and agree to the revoking of his Fire Arms license but contested the restraining order and asked that the court set bail at $50,000 and Mr. Garrison surrenders his passport. The Prosecution agreed Magistrate McAllister set the following bail restrictions:

1. That he pays the amount of $50 000 to bail officer in this court.

2. That he surrenders his passport to this court.

3. That he reports in with the court once a week

4. That his gun permit be revoked and that he is not allowed to carry a firearm or weapon of any kind

She also warned Mr. Garrison that should he not adhere to the restraining order a warrant for his arrest would be immediately issued and Mr. Garrison was released on bail.
