Dear readers,
It is with a heavy heart that we bring you heartbreaking news. One of our brave journalists, Joanne Steel, was shot while investigating a story surrounding the arsonist that plague our fair isle. Joanne is a hard-working journalist, who has not only put her life on the line but also her heart, her strength, and integrity, upholding everything a Journalist should hold dear and close to her heart. Joanne is currently recovering in DI Medical Center, and I would like to personally thank the staff who did an amazing job taking care of our intrepid reporter.
It has been a rough few months for our fair island. Hasn't it? Between the murders that plague our streets, the arsonist who runs rampant, burning down our homes and businesses, and an act of nature that nearly drowned us. Through it all, the police have done nothing. When the people needed help a small band of men kept watch over our island, as they tried to protect us from the raging fury of mother nature. Now, one of our own has been shot for simply doing her job. For months we have watched as residents have been the target of sick tyrants with no end in sight. Our investigations baring more fruit than the police department.
What will the council do to fix this problem? A gunman (or woman) is running around Isle, turning guns on our reporters. An arsonist can decide at any moment, to take away our homes, our lively hoods. A murderer with a thirst for male blood can strip our fathers, brothers, husbands, boyfriends, and sons, from our grasps any time they wish too, and it seems there is no one that will stop them.
Something needs to be done. Something needs to be done to protect the citizens of this Isle. If the police won't do their jobs, who will? Our council? The councilmen and women, who are targets themselves?
